A unique archipelago experience

We warmly welcome you to Hotel Nestor and Restaurant Back Pocket. We offer a cosy and romantic countryside stay combined with a unique 9-course tasting menu.

We also offer a romantic wedding venue in the archipelago with space for up to 90 guests, as well as extensive catering services and much more.

Back Pocket is located in the beautiful village of Österretais on the island of Korpo in the Turku archipelago.

Back Pocket

Our unique signature menu consists of nine culinary masterpieces created to embody the natural wonders of each season.

Our cooking is based on seasonal, locally grown, wild-foraged, and garden-cultivated ingredients wherever possible, along with a high degree of creativity and craftsmanship.

It is built on the artistic vision of William Hellgren, owner and head chef, and combines a passion for Nordic archipelago produce with inspiration from around the world, particularly Asia.

  • Opening hours: From 1 May, our restaurant will be open every day from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, by prior reservation (with the exception of certain special occasions).

Here you will find true calm, far away from the hectic pulse of the city life. Surrounded by endless numbers of forest paths, green meadows and the sea on walking distance you can easily lose yourself to the beauty of our surrounding nature.

By road

From Turku
You will find us about 70 km from Turku. Drive from Turku through Pargas and take the ferry over to Nagu. Drive across Nagu and take the ferry over to Korpo. You can use the ferries for free, and they travel every 15 minutes during the summer season. You can find the ferry schedules here.

If you’re coming from Nagu, take the ferry over to Korpo and keep driving along Skärgårdsvägen about 2,5 km. Turn to your right at Österretais bus stop and follow the path for an additional 500 meters until you reach the hotel.

Fantastic place for all kinds of events! Peaceful and inspiring place on the vivid island Korpo in the Finnish archipelago. Tasting menu by William is an experience of itself and so worth it! Can recommend!!!

One of the absolute best restaurants in the archipelago for fine dining. Take time and go for full menu. As always fine dining comes with a cost which is similar to any other equally qualitative place.

Söpö paikka. Töiden takia en ehtinyt paljoa muuta ihmettelemään. Ehdin kuitenkin käymään paljasjalkapolulla ja läheisillä kallioilla katsomassa merta. At the end of the season I was the only guest in the hotel. Huone oli siisti ja lämmin. Sain aamupalan huoneen jääkaappiin ja kahvi oli aamulla valmiiksi laitettu, koska jouduin lähtemään niin aikaisin. Huomasin aamulla huoneesta poistuessani myös ilokseni, että kaikki väliovet oli suljettu, joka on paloturvallisuuden kannalta olennaista :)

Aivan mahtava paikka ja ystävällinen henkilökunta. Pari hutia menussa, but mahtavasti tuli kokki ”korjaamaan” tilanteen. Tänne uudelleen, veneellä pääsi omaan laituriin muutaman minuutin kävelymatkan päähän.

Awesome.We stayed for 2 nights off season. Everything is weird, and quiet, and small, and wonderful.The tasting menu is the core of the stay. They're cooking all day to prepare.And it is absolutely worth it.We had it twice.Do get the matching wines.Our best two nights in Finland, and we had some very good nights.
