Klinga was a really able workhorse that was born, worked, and died on the farm after a really long life.
Pepsan was grandmothers favourite as a school girl. Pepsan used to wait by the gates when grandmother came home from school, knowing there would be some snack and caressing for her.
Pärlan was a good milkcow, and quite noce too – but she was prone to run away! There wasn’t an enclosed pasture that could hold her. Pärlan always found a way to get out and on to the roads.
Sara wasn’t a very nice cow, she was stubborn and not easy to milk, but she gave a lot of milk, and therefore was rewarded with a long life.
Siska was named “Little Miss” by the people on the farm. She had the fortune to live in the era when machines took over the dutys earlier performed by horses, so she only had easier tasks like pulling home a sleigh of hay wintertimes.
Sonja was a very kind and gentle cow, and easy to milk. She lived at the time when cows where milked manually. Because of her gentle manners she was the training cow for the children of the farm when learning the art of milking. She was a very sweet cow and had a long happy life on the farm.
Tian was a normal workhorse but more unusual destiny awaited her. She got drafted during world war 2. Story tells that she was put in front of a canon. She glanced a look at it, and then pulled it to its destination. Tian didn’t come home after the war – she died a heros death at the russian front and gave her life for her country.
